Our Experience
Combined, we have over 50 years experience working directly with deaf and hard of hearing children and families. We consistently see the need for more inclusion and connection at home and within the community.
Barriers
No child should ever feel lonely or frustrated due to communication barriers. We understand that learning a new language can be frustrating and overwhelming! It's easy to feel like you are failing or don't know where to start.
Our Solution
Success starts in the home and we are here to help! Language is the key for connecting with those you love. We have recognized the need for engaging material geared for families with children, and now have free and low cost resources to help!
Learn a little more about us
Meet Dacia...
I was born Deaf, and am the oldest of seven children. I didn’t learn American Sign Language until I was nine years old, and finally felt a whole new world of communication and connection open up to me. I’ve worked as an educator in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program for over 30 years. It’s my goal to help families and friends build stronger relationships using ASL together. Also…I have a blind cat :).
Meet Danicia...
I am an educational sign language interpreter and have been doing so for a little over 15 years. As a CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults), I am grateful for the opportunity to be a bridge between the Deaf and hearing world. I feel very passionate about Deaf and Hard of Hearing children receiving full access to language and about families learning ASL in the home. Also…I have three cows and eight chickens :).
Meet Deidra...
I received my masters degree in special education and taught in the classroom for six years. I cherished the opportunity to help my students learn and grow, but I’m grateful for the chance I have to be home with my littles for the time being. As a CODA, American Sign Language is my first language and it’s a beautiful one. I can’t wait to share it with you and your family. Also…I love standing on my head in yoga :).
